Contests, Giveaways, South African Servers, and the return of Rush and Frontlines.
Battlefield V will be entering week 12 of Chapter 6, marking the end of the chapter. With the April update deferred until May, this week’s community update provides good guidance on what to expect this final week of the chapter and until update 6.6 releases sometime in May.
First, EA DICE lays out what to expect for this final week, including re-starting of South African servers, pop-in stream drops including free giveaway codes of the game, screenshot and trailer contests, the return of Frontlines and Rush game modes, and Best Community in the World and EA Play 2019 Emblem giveaways.
One of the major highlights this week is the re-starting of the South African servers, although how long they will be live remains to be determined, it seems as though global community manager Adam Freeman has indicated the goal would be to keep the servers live through the end of the COVID-19 pandemic to support stay at home efforts.
For streamers, Battlefield V developers will be popping into Twitch / Mixer / Facebook streams all day Wednesday, April 22, 2020. Streamers are set to receive full activated codes to be able to offer Battlefield V full game giveaways. An additional community contest for the week includes a Meme of the Month contest to score Battlefield gear.
