The legendary “Batista Bomb” WWE move has made its way into Gears 5, now available as an execution animation for players to use against each other in multiplayer.

Fans will be able to harness the power of gravity by mercilessly slamming Locust foes into the ground with the finisher. Undoubtedly, we’ll be seeing a whole lot of Batista Bombs being performed by Dave Bautista’s in-game character in the near future.

Part of what gives Gears its gritty character is the absolute brutality of its kill animations. The Batista Bomb fits in quite nicely with other classics such as the Curb Stomp, the Chain-Sodomy, and (of course) the Gnasher Golf Swing. As shown in the teaser video, Locust opponents break into a smattering of gory chunks upon being smacked into the ground; It’s satisfying in its own, sadistic way.

With this addition, the WWE continues to mesh with the gaming genre. Batista’s presence in the Gears series aside, The Undertaker recently made an appearance on Dr Disrespect’s Twitch stream. The two developed a rivalry over the course of a week or so, culminating in a brief showdown in late February. They seemed to stalemate, so hopefully we get to see more action between the two in the future.

For now, fans of both worlds can unlock the Batista Bomb execution for free by simply playing Gears 5 anytime between now and April 18th!
