After teasing a reveal during the Japanese Fighting Game Publishers Round Table a few weeks back, Bandai Namco has announced that the next round of Dragon Ball FighterZ DLC will be unveiled on August 16, 2020. Starting at 11:00 am PST/2:00 pm EST, the company will lay out all of its plans for tournaments, game updates, and obviously additional characters.
Whether or not this means an extra season is yet to be seen. With how insanely popular Dragon Ball FighterZ has been, what harm would there be in adding another five fighters? Players can’t get enough of Arc System Works’ mechanics and FighterZ is the best DBZ game, after all.
We’re still not sure who will be added to the cast, but the most recent rumor was of Master Roshi’s inclusion. I’m not sure how that would work, but I also want to see Mr. Satan get added. That’s the kind of wacky fan service I can get behind.
Instead of characters, I’d rather that Bandai Namco talk netcode and how it will fix that moving forward. For as great as FighterZ is to play, going online is a complete crapshoot and not really worth it. Implement some rollback netcode and I’ll be game.
