An Avengers developer who was asked what Xbox and PC players who want to play as Spider-Man should do had a not-very-helpful answer.
The build to Marvel’s Avengers has been going on for over a year. That build has been pretty mixed. When first announced, Marvel fans criticized the design of the game’s characters. However, as the release date has grown nearer, and more details have been revealed, excitement for Marvel’s Avengers has increased. That was until the bombshell dropped by its developers earlier this month.
The news that Spider-Man will join the Avengers in 2021. On the surface, that sounds like good news. However, the web-slinger will only be a playable character on the PS4 and PS5 versions of Marvel’s Avengers. Since Spidey won’t be coming to Xbox and PC, that means he can’t truly be a part of the game’s ongoing story on any platform.
