There are a number of memorable characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender, which recently became available to stream on Netflix. Yet for whatever reason, fans have always been attached to one of the shows minor characters, the Cabbage Man. He’s known as such because his cabbage cart is destroyed a number of times throughout the show. Now, the voice actor of the Cabbage Man is hoping to reprise his role in the upcoming live-action remake.

The voice actor, James Sie, recently talked to Slate magazine as part of an oral history of Avatar: The Last Airbender. In the interview, he said that his character was supposed to be a one time gag. Sie only had one line — “My cabbages!” — but he delivered it with such gusto that it becoming a running joke in the series, even appearing in the follow-up series, The Legend of Korra.

When asked in the interview if he wanted to be a part of the live-action remake, he said that he’d be more than willing to grow out the beard required for the character.  Sie also said that he had a very expressive face, and that he’s “perfect for a live-action version of an animated show.”

Of course, actors get very little say in if they get to appear in a show. But hopefully, someone at Netflix read the interview, as it would be great for Sie to return to the role that made him famous. Fans who are stuck waiting for the remake can always check out the awesome Avatar recreations in Animal Crossing.
