Sony has announced the selection of free games available to PlayStation Plus subscribers for August 2020 and it certainly is a strange mix. The launch of Fall Guys is getting paired with Modern Warfare 2 Remastered and I’m not sure what committee got together to decide that.
Both games are certainly worth your time, but I imagine that there isn’t much crossover here. Anyone that’s interested in Fall Guys likely isn’t going to be playing a 10-year-old Call of Duty game. Fans of Modern Warfare 2 are also probably going to be really miffed since it hasn’t even been half a year since that re-release happened.
Fall Guys will be available for download on August 4, 2020, while Modern Warfare Remastered 2 will get added to Plus tomorrow. That won’t be the only freebie coming next month. Those without a Plus subscription will be able to partake of a free multiplayer weekend on August 8 and 9. This will let you play whichever games you like with your friends without having to shell out the $60 for a year of Plus.
It would be nice to know what Sony intends to do with the service for the PS5’s launch, but it’s probably still too early to reveal those details.
