Atlus has asked fans to be mindful when sharing spoilers online for Persona 4 Golden.

The request was posted to Atlus West’s official Twitter (@Atlus_West). Though the actual tweet merely said, “A message from ATLUS to everyone playing Persona 4 Golden on Steam!” the image that accompanied it featured a longer request from the video game developers.

In the post, Atlus thanked all of Persona 4 Golden’s dedicated fans for being so enthusiastic about the recent PC port, acknowledging them for the game’s success on Steam. The post went on to say that, although Persona 4 Golden was released quite a while ago, the team recognizes that many people will be playing the game for the first time. With that in mind, Atlus asked fans not to spoil the game’s ending, and to be mindful of posting any spoilers online by accompanying it with tags so new players could be alerted.

The message was shared in both English and Japanese.

Persona 4 Golden, an enhanced version of Atlus’ JRPG hit Persona 4 (2008), was released in 2012 for the PlayStation Vita. Though the game received critical and commercial reviews, many fans lamented the exclusivity of the game, as it was only available on one console. Especially after the release of the JRPG megahit Persona 5, many fans hoped the game would be released on additional platforms so more fans could play it. Since the game’s release, it has not received any additional ports. That is, until now.

Earlier last week, after Atlus confirmed an appearance at the PC Gaming Show 2020, rumors began to swirl about Persona 4 Golden potentially receiving a PC port. Atlus remained silent on the subject throughout the week, but the PC port was officially announced during last Saturday’s PC Gaming Show.

Since the game’s re-release on PC, it has climbed to the top-sellers charts on Steam and received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and fans alike. Though some fans have wondered if the game’s success means other Atlus JRPG’s might make their way to the PC, the video game development company has not confirmed any future releases.

Persona 4 Golden is available now for PC devices via Steam for $19.99. It is also available for the PlayStation Vita.
