Get those pots stirring, because Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy has been leaked on the Australian Ratings Board. The unannounced sequel has been rated PG for mild fantasy themes and violence.
There has been no word from the series’ publisher Koei Tecmo or the developer GUST on the development of this game. Currently, GUST is likely putting in the finishing touches on their turn-based RPG adaptation of the Fairy Tail series. That releases on July 31st. We could hear more about Atelier Ryza 2 afterward.

Like the first game, Atelier Ryza 2 will be a multi-platform title, so PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC releases are likely - unless it’s a next-gen game, that is. The ratings board also mentions a very mild impact of language and sex.
It makes sense there will be a sequel to Ryza as it was the best selling game in the Atelier series with over 420,000 units sold digitally and physically (via Siliconera).
Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & The Secret Hideout revamped a lot for the series. It had improved graphics, a revamped synthesis system, and easier gathering with tools that will help you obtain the items you specifically want for a recipe. It also has an active battle system with real-time elements, similarly to Ubisoft’s Child of Light.
In Ever Darkness & The Secret Hideout, the main protagonist Ryza and her friends explore the world outside of their dozy village and find a forbidden island across the water. And in true RPG fashion, they find an evil villain they must defeat to save the world! In the past, Koei Tecmo has done some crossover events for Atelier Ryza, like Dead or Alive 6 and Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV.
The Atelier series is known for its blend of synthesis and turn-based RPG mechanics. It began back in 1997 with the Japanese only release of Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg for the PS1. Then, the West played its first Atelier game in 2005 with Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana for the PS2. Koei Tecmo has since been releasing a title almost every year, so we could see Ryza 2 on store shelves by the end of 2020.
